Our 9th Poker Night showed that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Both Amy Tabor and Pete Greenlaw made their 4th final table, but neither were able to become our first repeat champion. Carla Brown played steady poker and got paid off on big hands, a surefire recipe for a win. It came down to heads-up play between Carla and A.J., and A.J. held the chip lead until he pushed it all in on a Queen high board with three hearts showing. Carla called and took it down with KQ of clubs when A.J. showed Q3o. The King on the river gave her an unneeded two pair and the lead. A.J. pushed post-flop on the very next hand holding J7 on a rainbow flop of 8-7-6. Carla could only smile sheepishly as she called and flipped over T9 for the flopped nut straight. A 3 on the turn and a 9 on the river sealed the deal.
